"Tsunami Run"

Received confirmation thru SMS from Rachael aka PM21 to meet at KL Sentral 10.30am as Jack Toh is driving his Avanza to PD.

Pack my barang (stuff) on Saturday morning and took LRT to Sentral at 10.00am and saw Alonso and Pui Tien waiting for PM1 and PM21, a short wait and Jack was waiting at the opposite side of the road. The ride was smooth but a little jammed towards Nilai and Seremban caused by people going for Cheng Beng( respect for the death). Nevertheless we reach Lukut town for lunch searching for the King Bun ( Lucky Seafood Restaurant) recommended by Pui Tien. It was awesome and very delicious curry chicken "rapped" in a bun.

After lunch we headed to Sunshine Bay Resort which prior booking were made by PM21. The apartment has a very nice seaview and fit just nice for 6 of us. Alonso was kind to drive to collect the bibs.

Ai Ling our Singapore friend arrived at 3.30pm to check in and shortly after we headed for a swim at the Straits of Malacca, its was a pleasant and relaxing moment. Joviet Sim informed that he just finished his meeting and making his way to PD and probably be late so he will not join us for dinner.

We had dinner at Lukut town once again and had some seafood, it turn out to be moderate but no complaints. After dinner was just plain resting and eating deesert.

PM1 gave me a moring call at 5.00am when I was enjoying my sweet dream. The race was schedule to start at 7.00am sharp and we headed to the starting line at 6.00am and was one of the many few one to arrive. A little short while loads of buses and cars started to arrived.

By 6.45am it started to drizzle but we kept being optimistic that it would not be heavy and we were wrong just before the start off the rain starts to pour and all of us were soaking wet and our shoes became heavy like rocks.

7.05am the race was set off and the rain was no mercy for us it just kept on pouring and pouring and to make things worst the road was puddle everywhere and our visibility was also compromised. We had to battle the strong wind as well from the side and the front. I was telling myself that this is really silly to run in such conditions and was worried not able to complete the race but anyhow I kept on going and after the U turn I felt better and managed to hold on till the finishing line. Glad to have made it and collected my medal.

Overall the trip was ok and hope my fitness could be better for next run.

Thanks to PM21 for arranging the accommodation and Jack Toh for transport and PM1 for registration.
