This year's KL marathon was better organised and has attracted more than 16,000 runners all together. I could only managed to take part in the 21km as I am not fit to cover the 42km and thank God I managed to complete the run just below 2hrs and happy to collect a nice finisher medal and is was my 4th medal for the year. Coming up races are Siemens and Shape run 18th July and 31 July respectively.
Futures races could be Mizuno, Adidas, Penang Bridge and perhaps Chiangmai or Macau.

Meeting New Pacemakers
It has been a while that I was not as active as before and less fit as I used to be. I am still finding opportunity to run whenever I could, since my "lay off" I have gained 4kg to 5kg and it has effected my endurance and also add more harm to my injured knee. I am still seeking for proper treatment which till now I never could get one, all that I got was advised from orthopedics "STOP RUNNING", how could I accept with such answers, I have been running for more than 20 years and running is my blood and soul. Nevertheless I still runs so much so to keep my fats down and geared up my endurance, not as much as I use to be just 2 times a week.
Lately I came to know few new faces just join the PM family and they are good runners and full of potential, glad to know them, well the PM family is growing from strength to strrength and in no time the membership shall surpass 60.
I had a great run yesterday and happy to complete the 20km without much difficulties and happy with my timing too.

New Year Run 2008
The day or rather the date that everybody have been waiting finally arrived, yes December 31 the last day for the year and everyone was filled with excitement and looking forward to the new year celebration ushering the year 2008. As for me is just another normal day as I had to work on the 31/12/07 mainly because I have exhausted all my annual leave as per my company's directives. My office mates were discussing where to go for count down celebration and to partying all nite long but as for me I need to get to bed early as I need to get up early the next morning (next year) to assit the Network Run as informed by Ronnie to be at Lake Gardens by 6.00am. When to bed at 10.40pm but was awakened by the loud fire works and fire crakers at 12.00pm and could not sleep anymore until I have to switch on the TV to watch Quickee (TV8) until 2.00pm and went back to bed but was still not sleepy and have shut my eyes and pretend to sleep. When I was about heading for the dreamland the alarm rang and is time to wake up (5.20am).
Drove to Lake Gardens and saw KP Tan and the gang already busy arranging the bibs and setting up the tables (6.15am), Ronnie the kan cheong no where to be seen, guess he FFK.
Participants arrived one by one and they collected their bibs and gifts from Phylis and Lai's wife. Everyone was in the happy mood cos is New Year and everyone seem wishing one another and also good to see some "old" friends came back for the run namely Joviet, Wan Lin, Justin the Hopper. Racheal the CEO gave instruction to the time keepers and also setting the medals and trophies table.
The race flaged off by Lai at 7.30am after the boring but important speech by Mr Bulu Man. The ladies were required to run 2 laps and the men 6 laps of each completed 2.3km lap. Water station was available on the 3rd lap onwards.
The time keepers were break into 3 groups comprising 2 person for each group and making sure that each runner completes the required laps. I had fun as time keeper and each time runner passed by I waved at them with my mini Malaysian flag and shouted how many more laps they need to complete.
I choose not to participat this year because I was not fit. After the run breakfast was served and each runner who completes the run was given a "Gold" medal and top finishers was awarded with trophies.
Overall it was an exciting and joyful day to start the year and thanks to all who make the run a success one and looking forward to more runs this year and hopefully I will be able to run again.

December Blues
Not noticing that the year ending soon with just a week or so , time is pasting so fast just like a blink of an eye. Today is just a great day with nice cloudy morning and no rushing to office as I am on my annual leave. I just finish cleaning my clothes and going thru the chat box and read some interesting stuff of some friends. Not much of running was done this couple of months as was quite busy in the office and moreover injury has not been totally healed.
Did only light running with slow pace, managed to cover 2 times Sri Hartamas this month since early August and glad I did it without much discomfort. Hope to run do it again this weekend and if no ache with my knee maybe to attempt the GE20k.
For this year I managed to travel a bit, I went to Macau and Hong Kong last month it was my first visit to Hong Kong and the experience is a memorable one and if any possibility I will go again.
I am looking forward to year 2008 and may it be a better year for the whole wide world.

PAR Trail Run
With exactly one week from now the PAR Run will take place at the very own training ground for most Pacesetters and Pacemakers the Lake Gardens. PAR is the most exciting run organised by the Pacemakers annually, the last was held at the KLCC park.
The run is organised in the form of relay consist of 4 runners to a team and a reserve, each runner have to complete the stipulated distance depending on the venue set. The previous venue at KLCC was 1.3km per loop and each runner was made to cover 2 loops which equivalent to 2.6km and since this year is held at the Lake Gardens and the loop is 2.3km therefore each runner has to run only 1 loop.
I was force to take part in this year's event by Ronnie , honestly speaking I am worried as running relay event is not my preference. This morning we did the time trails and it seem some of the runner did very well and this has got Ronnie to be vary about other teams on the actual day.
As for me I hope only to maintain the gap and the position nothing more nothing less and hopefully the anchor man of our team could spring some surprises.

"Tsunami Run"
Received confirmation thru SMS from Rachael aka PM21 to meet at KL Sentral 10.30am as Jack Toh is driving his Avanza to PD.
Pack my barang (stuff) on Saturday morning and took LRT to Sentral at 10.00am and saw Alonso and Pui Tien waiting for PM1 and PM21, a short wait and Jack was waiting at the opposite side of the road. The ride was smooth but a little jammed towards Nilai and Seremban caused by people going for Cheng Beng( respect for the death). Nevertheless we reach Lukut town for lunch searching for the King Bun ( Lucky Seafood Restaurant) recommended by Pui Tien. It was awesome and very delicious curry chicken "rapped" in a bun.
After lunch we headed to Sunshine Bay Resort which prior booking were made by PM21. The apartment has a very nice seaview and fit just nice for 6 of us. Alonso was kind to drive to collect the bibs.
Ai Ling our Singapore friend arrived at 3.30pm to check in and shortly after we headed for a swim at the Straits of Malacca, its was a pleasant and relaxing moment. Joviet Sim informed that he just finished his meeting and making his way to PD and probably be late so he will not join us for dinner.
We had dinner at Lukut town once again and had some seafood, it turn out to be moderate but no complaints. After dinner was just plain resting and eating deesert.
PM1 gave me a moring call at 5.00am when I was enjoying my sweet dream. The race was schedule to start at 7.00am sharp and we headed to the starting line at 6.00am and was one of the many few one to arrive. A little short while loads of buses and cars started to arrived.
By 6.45am it started to drizzle but we kept being optimistic that it would not be heavy and we were wrong just before the start off the rain starts to pour and all of us were soaking wet and our shoes became heavy like rocks.
7.05am the race was set off and the rain was no mercy for us it just kept on pouring and pouring and to make things worst the road was puddle everywhere and our visibility was also compromised. We had to battle the strong wind as well from the side and the front. I was telling myself that this is really silly to run in such conditions and was worried not able to complete the race but anyhow I kept on going and after the U turn I felt better and managed to hold on till the finishing line. Glad to have made it and collected my medal.
Overall the trip was ok and hope my fitness could be better for next run.
Thanks to PM21 for arranging the accommodation and Jack Toh for transport and PM1 for registration.

A Day Before Penang Round Island Run
The Round Penang Island Relay is an annual event usually held during the month of December and well participated by mostly Penangites. This year the Pacemakers throw in their challenge by sending a fairly balance team. I was once a reserve runner so I just want to have fun again by agreeing to be one of the reserve runner again and also I am not in good shape to run since I started working in Sitiawan.
Today I will be travelling from Sitiawan to Penang to meet up with the rest of the team at Merchant Hotel, Penang Road. My whole intention is to have fun and eat lots of Penang hawkers foods.
Being reserve I have no pressure at all and still eligible for a medal and points, wonderful isn't it.
Ronnie seem to be the most kan cheong wan cos this is his first time running such event.
For the meantime I just want to enjoy myself.
